Unprecedent Man-Made Crisis- Tsunami of Corona
Every
morning we wake up, most of all wakes up in fear. Fear of known crisis, you
guessed correct- it is CORONA/ Covid 19. All wakes up hoping no of cases to be
reduced, no of deaths to be reduced/minimized. Fortunately, now corona cases
are reducing in previous hotspots, but unfortunately new hotspots are being
formed. Earlier it was in big cities with better if not best health
infrastructure (when only compared with rest of India), now it’s moving to
smaller cities, towns, and villages with least health infrastructure. When
better or best health infrastructure didn't cope with rising or in other word
raging pandemic, it's totally absurd to imagine nothing much will happen at
hinterlands. Although there is so many views and counterviews regarding cause
and handling the situation, today I will share my insight as common man without
fears or favors.
Steps
in problem solving involves.
1. Acknowledging a Problem
2. Understanding a Problem
3. Depends upon severity of problem- Solving
using all available resources (with professional as well as volunteers)
So let’s
first understand causes of current problem i.e. 2nd wave errr Tsunami of Covid
19 in India. I have tried to divide it several heads/categories to easy
understanding. so let's start.
Causes
of 2nd wave/ Tsunami of Covid 19
1.
Timing- seeing the last year and this year-
there seems to March- April months when explosion in Covid 19 cases started.
Doctors and scientists may be able to explain the exact relation but, in my
view,/knowledge it's more with sudden changing of weather from winter to summer
and people become bit relaxed. Do not take proper care of themselves.
2.
Common
Mistakes by Common man –
Although we all say to use common sense which is not so common in
today's world. Even with so many requests, literatures, and warning about
maintaining social distancing and wearing masks our common people both
uneducated and worse even educated people failed to follow advice. This not
following advice lies in our human genes. whatever experts says most people
wants to just do opposite, and worse they show others also that non following
rules and advice are cool. So, followings are mistakes we, as people of India
is.
a) Not maintaining social distancing.
b)
Not
wearing Masks/ covering faces.
c)
Not
Isolating self and family upon suspicion of catching Covid. Even our so-called
educated people feel pride and convinced to venture out till the time test
reports confirm Positive. Even worse some people roam around even after
confirmation. We must think about our fellow people, just by blaming
governments, we cannot escape from our responsibility and duties. No
government can control all people, especially in country like India where
people have scent regards for law and rules.
d)
False
belief- we people tend to behave like ostrich, who bury his face in sand and
thinks that nothing will happen to me as I am invisible to hunters. Same we
human lives with false belief that even we do not take precautions nothing is
happening. Or worse if someone tries to make them understand they do not care.
My dear fellows I pray to god that nothing
will happen to you but because of your casual approach we put so many lives (of
Family, friends, and fellow citizens) in danger. Please take care of yourselves
first and then others. Be little more vigilant and more determined to follow
rules. If we will follow rules no needs of any lockdowns and moreover some of
us will not live with stigma of being responsible of death of near and dear
ones.
3. So called Beloved Leaders/ Government’s
mistakes
Like any battlefield soldiers looks to
their general for guidance, same applies for calamities/emergencies, everyone
looks at top for guidance. We failed miserably here not only most of leaders flouted
norms, but our top leaders also himself failed to follow Covid
appropriate behavior. We all are aware of blunders our leaders committed while
fighting pendemic. I am not saying they didn’t work, but I am saying work was
not enough. Followings are few major mistakes committed by India’s ruling
elite.
a)
False
sense of victory- Central government miscalculated and announced victory over
corona too early, thus giving false signal to most of country man about same
and this was indeed responsible for a great amount of slackness in covid appropriate
behaviors.
b)
Not
following Covid appropriate behavior in public meetings especially elections
c)
Giving
election and other activities more priority than public health- you all are aware
of elections and other ongoing projects like Central Vista. If central vista
gets delayed few years nothing major calamity will come. Our first priority
should be augment public health.
d)
Living
life with denial- our elite class (ruling and administration wake up quite late
this time. And even after condition was becoming worse, they kept living in
mirage of “All is well”. This is not a movie but pandemic, one small mistake
and so many life at risk.
e)
Giving
no importance to criticism- the current government behaved like arrogant organization
by not listening to tell-tell signs but also ridiculing people criticizing,
even worse when it criticized people for giving it suggestion. History teaches
us from the time Ramayana and Mahabhartha that King must listen his criticism
and also keep an keen ear for suggestion.
f)
Government
is full of yes boss people- there is a saying in Ramayan that “
|
Means When Minister, Doctor or teacher
speaks favorable instead of truth, due to fear or favor, than the
country/state, body or religion goes on downward journey or in other words they
move towards destructions.
g)
Incorrect
data collection/sharing- When problem data itself is wrong how well do you
expect to solve the problem.
h)
Image
building exercise is much more important than heeling touch/ health
infrastructure. Governments had almost a year to augment health infrastructure.
Instead of augmenting we went ahead with dismantling already assembled infrastructures
like one 10000 bed hospital at Radha swamy baes.
i)
We know all, thanks we don’t
require expertise/ co-ordinations, that’s what central government seems to
think. Their coordination with other well-known company from around world was
not up to mark. With so many other vaccines around the world we contained with
our two vaccines, thus greatly hampering our immunization drive which is now open
for all to see.
j)
Not well-oiled ruler-
opposition relation, resulting in public brick batting instead of fighting
together the pandemic.
k)
Last but not least central
government communicate one way, at least that’s what most opposition ruled
states feel. They take at random decisions like suddenly asking states to get
vaccines for their own people. It was much better if as whole India we went and
done deal together then dealing one by one. In later process our collective
wealth, India resources only competing against one another thus straining resources.
If we had gone together after taking note of individual state requirement, we
should have saved our scarce resources for other welfare works also.
